BELINDA DOWNES    Beautiful art for all tastes.

Following a degree in Textile Design, Belinda worked as a freelance artist and designer producing large scale pieces for corporate buildings and public spaces. Continuing in design, Belinda worked in children's book illustration for Macmillan, Dorling Kindersley, and Walker Books; and freelanced for greeting card and stationery design companies.

Teaching art and embroidery and exhibiting her work, took Belinda to America, Australia, and Japan and she spent a year as Artist in Residence for the Embroiderers Guild at Hampton Court Palace. After moving to Wotton under-Edge in 2007 and working on private commissions, Belinda opened her own shop selling a creative mix of gifts, painted furniture and her own cards and prints as inspired by Wotton.

After a successful spell managing Wotton Gallery Belinda will now focus her career on producing her unique artworks. Look out for planned exhibitions throughout 2016 showcasing her new work.
